At Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, we follow Wesleyan theology, which is
grounded in the principles of grace, faith, and action. United Methodists believe that
faith is not only about personal spiritual growth but also about living out God’s love
through meaningful service and social justice.
We strive to experience a life transformed by God’s grace—growing in personal
holiness while actively working to make a positive difference in our community and the
world. This means caring for others, engaging with our neighbors, and addressing social
issues as an expression of our faith.
Let us seek together to live out these values together in faith, hope, and love.

Our Core Beliefs

Triune God

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and
Holy Spirit.
Salvation through Jesus Christ
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, freely available to all through faith in Jesus
Christ—His life, death, and resurrection.
Importance of Scripture
The Bible is the inspired word of God and our primary guide for faith and practice.
Sanctification
We believe in sanctification, a lifelong process where God's grace transforms us into
Christ-like love and holiness.
Sacraments
We recognize two sacraments: Holy Baptism and Holy Communion—visible signs of
God’s grace.
Free Will
While we acknowledge humanity’s struggle with sin, we affirm that everyone has the
ability to respond to God's grace and is responsible for their choices.

Our Distinctive Emphases
Social Holiness
Faith must be alive in action, inspiring us to address social injustices and work for
positive change in the world.
Wesleyan Theology
Rooted in the teachings of John Wesley, we emphasize God’s grace—even before we
respond—and the possibility of complete sanctification.
Social Justice
We actively advocate for the poor, marginalized, and oppressed, living out God’s love
through justice.
Christian Action
Faith calls us to serve—through mission work, community engagement, and living out
Christ’s love in tangible ways.
